The Girls Behind NYNN

The Girls Behind NYNN

Built by sisters. Guided by perspective.

We’re Ans and MC, sisters, students at LSU, and the founders of Not Your Nana’s Needlepoint.

NYNN started with a simple question:
What would needlepoint look like through our lens?

We’ve always been drawn to design, to color, proportion, and the way small details can completely change how something feels. Needlepoint is timeless, but the aesthetic around it felt ready for a fresh perspective.

So we started creating canvases the way we see everything else, thoughtfully and intentionally.

Each design begins as a composition. We think about balance, negative space, scale, and how the finished piece will live beyond the stitching process. We want our canvases to feel at home in modern spaces, styled on a bookshelf, framed in an apartment, or finished into something you actually use.

Building NYNN while balancing classes, exams, and campus life has shaped how we approach everything. It has taught us discipline. It has pushed us to be clear about our vision. And it has made every launch feel even more meaningful.

We’re constantly researching needlepoint markets, working with painters and suppliers, and refining our materials to ensure quality in every canvas. From mesh count to paint clarity, every detail matters to us.

NYNN reflects how we see the craft:
less ornamental, more intentional.
modern, but rooted in tradition.

The canvas comes first.
The stitch follows.

And we’re just getting started.
